Mission

The Iosco County Child Protection Council will serve as a voice for all children and families to promote their health, safety, and welfare by supporting and funding effective collaborative programs and services that prevent Child Abuse and Neglect.

We believe that:

  • All children are valuable members of our society and have a right to a safe and loving environment free from abuse and neglect.
  • Our community can create an environment that supports, promotes, and encourages the healthy development of all children.
  • Education plays a significant part in preventing child abuse and neglect.
  • Children are our most precious natural resource.

The Iosco County Child Protection Council:

  • Provides parent support information, baby food, diapers, cereal, formula, clothing, etc. through Carol's Baby Pantry.
  • Provides educational information about Safe Sleep for infants.
  • Provides “Period of PURPLE Crying” DVDs to all newborns through the OB Department at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital.
  • Presents the “Shaken Baby” educational program on request.
  • Provides a Speakers Bureau to all interested audiences.
  • Networks with other community groups and agencies to promote Child Abuse Prevention.
